Samuel Ross Tillery






This is a photo of Samuel Ross Tillery (1880-1958) and his second wife Emily Boone.  My husband is descended from Bessie Tillery, the daughter of  S. R. Tillery and his first wife Mattie Haynes.

S. R. Tillery and Mattie Haynes were married February 4, 1903 in Anderson County, TN.  They were divorced in November of 1906 in Knox County, TN. 

Mattie Haynes died in 1923.  I have not found a picture yet of Mattie Haynes, but hope one day I will.

Wyth N King and Cordelia Farmer




This is the family of Wyth and Cordelia Farmer King around 1904-1905.
Wyth is sometimes spelled as Wythe.
Children are Ethel King, Rufus King, Josie King and baby Eulis King.

Wyth King, age 9, is found in the 1880 Knox County, TN Census with his parents William and Leticia King.

Wyth and Cordelia are in the 1900 Union Co TN census with children Ethel, Rufus and Josie.

Wyth and Cordelia (Cordie) are in the 1910 Knox Co TN census with children Ethel, Rufus, Josie and Eulis..    Also listed are Cordelia's parents Milligan and Emily Farmer.

Wyth and Cordelia are in the 1920 with children Josie and Eulis, their daughter Ethel and son-in-law Walter Hill, daughter-in-law Laura King (who married Rufus), granddaughter Margaret King (child of Rufus) and brother-in-law Mahlon Farmer.

Wyth is listed in the 1930 Knox Co, TN census in the household of his son Eulis.
Cordelia is listed in the 1930 Hall Co, Nebraska census with the family of daughter Josie McFeeley

Wyth King died in 1939 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Knoxville, TN.
Cordelia King died in 1944 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Knoxville, TN.
